where Did the Translators Work?

About four dozen men worked on translating the King James Bible. They were divided into six groups. Each group was called a “company” and worked on translating a different part of the Bible.

The translators worked in three different cities in England: London, Oxford, and Cambridge. The London translators met in Westminster Abbey. The other translators met at the campuses of the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, where many of them had studied.

The translators were some of the best scholars in the country. They were chosen because of their knowledge of Hebrew and Greek. The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew and the New Testament was originally written in Greek.
